Did you know that 80% of illnesses are transmitted by your hands? That’s one of the main reasons I was extremely excited to try out Purell’s large line of sanitizers! I received samples of Purell’s advanced sanitizer in refreshing aloe as well as the original refreshing gel. I also received samples of the travel size jelly wrap carriers, and their new natural hand sanitizer. With their new formula, Purell Advanced kills 99.9% of germs that may transmit illnesses. It is clinically proven to be effective and is used by some of the top leading hospitals around the world! Purell recently released their new natural formula which offers the same effectiveness as the advanced formula, but is made with natural ingredients. It is made from plant based alcohol and is Ecology as well as USDA certified. The Purell jelly wrap carries are one of my favorite products that Purell offers. These are perfect for on-the-go and easily snap onto purses, backpacks, belt loops and more! I have one attached to my keychain and also have one attached to my daughter’s diaper bag. These carries are currently available in new summer scents like Ocean Kiss, Pink Orchid, Coconut Beach Siesta, and Mandarin Medley( personally prefer the coconut). All Purell products are available at major mass markets such as Walmart and Target. You can also find them at drug stores such as CVS and Walgreens.
Facts about germs and hand sanitizer:
- The average office desk is home to 20,000 germs per square inch. It harbours 400 times more germs than the toilet, which gets cleaned and disinfected regularly.
- The skin sheds ten million cells a day. Some of these get transported by our hands onto keyboards, push buttons for telephones, faxes and photocopiers…all of which are shared.
- Hand Sanitizers DO NOT create super bacteria. An interesting myth that many people now believe is that hand sanitizers can actually create drug resistant super bacteria. This is simply not true.
- Hand Sanitizers Are Safe for Babies. Babies have skin that’s very thin and delicate, but that doesn’t mean they can’t benefit from hand sanitizers. Of course, you don’t want to overdo it. Make sure to use smaller amounts of hand sanitizer, and your children should be just fine.
- There have been more than 20 studies conducted by the Centers for Disease Control which show that alcohol-based hand sanitizers do indeed eliminate more germs than soap and water.
