I recently noticed an advertisement for the TYME titanium hair straightener and curling iron and thought it was too good to be true. One hair tool that can both straighten my hair AND curl it? Most of the time I leave my hair natural or straighten it, which often leaves it looking flat and lifeless. I don’t usually curl my hair because I can never seem to get it perfect. That is why I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the TYME Iron and test my luck! 
The TYME Iron came with a carrying case, as well as step by step instructions on how to use it properly. The TYME Iron has two sides which include the straightening side and the curling side. The curling side has two brown “guidelines” which I can use as a reference when curling my hair. When I turned the iron on, the power light started blinking blue and it automatically started heating to 400 degrees. Once the power light stopped blinking and kept a steady blue light, I knew it was ready to use. To curl my hair the instructions say to place the guidelines closest to my scalp, rotate the guidelines away from me, then glide the iron slowly away from my scalp using very light pressure. The TYME website suggests finding a “focusing point” in the corner of my mirror and guiding the iron in that direction as I pull down. To straighten my hair, the instructions say to place the gold plated side (no brown guidelines) closest to my scalp and glide down using very light pressure. Although straightening my hair was extremely easy, I had a little bit of trouble getting my curls perfect. Instead of giving up on the TYME Iron like I have done with previous curling irons, I scheduled a StyleTYME meeting with one of TYME Iron’s personal stylists. Genevieve Koch was able to set up a virtual meeting with me the day after I reached out. The meeting was very short and sweet, but Genevive was able to give me a few key tips to master my TYME technique. For starters, I was putting too much pressure on the iron which was causing my hair to frizz and crease!
After my 30 minute StyleTYME session, I felt extremely confident with my iron. I was able to master the perfect curl which I have NEVER been able to do before. The TYME Iron is not only perfect for beauty experts, but it is perfect for people like me that don’t have a knack for doing their own hair. The TYME Iron is sleek, stylish, and extremely easy to master. Now I can finally stop rocking my “mom ” and try out some other fun styles!
