Everywhere Agency engaged me to do this post. I am participating because I believe every child should have access to pajamas.
Every day I look forward to leaving work and coming home to spend time with my daughter. More specifically, I look forward to putting my daughter in her nice warm pajamas and reading her a book. This has been a night time tradition for as long as I can remember. She and I both look forward to this quality time every night.Of course, not every child gets to share this quality time with their families. Not every child has the luxury of bedtime stories and warm pajamas. Children NEED to bond with their parents in a safe environment. Most children in shelters have been taken from their homes because their families are unable to properly care for them. Children often arrive at shelters with nothing of their own. They sleep in unfamiliar places and don’t own any books or pajamas to make their stay more comfortable. Did you know that most children in shelters experience a 30,000,000-word gap from their peers by the age of three? Well it is true. They are usually reading at a level several grades behind where they should be. For the seventh year, Carter’s is partnering with Pajama Program to provide comfort and literacy to children in group homes, shelters, and other temporary living situations. On November 29th, also known as Giving Tuesday, Carter’s will match up to 100,000 PJ donations both online and in-store! They will also be accepting PJ donations in-store throughout the remainder of the year (12/31/16). Monetary donations can be made online and will go towards additional books, PJs, and building reading centers around the country! So please, help us help children around the country get the comfort they deserve by donating to Pajama Program or shopping at Carter’s today!
