Celebrate International Women’s Day with Coca-Cola

I received products from Coca-Cola’s 5by20 program; However, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own

As a single mother, I am a strong believer that we must empower the women of our generation and our future generations. What I do today, will without a doubt impact my daughter tomorrow. My daughter deserves a good future, and I am determined to give her one. That is why I am extremely excited to be partnering with Coca-Cola on their 5by20 program and celebrating International Women’s Day . In 2010 the 5by20 program was set in place to help the economic empowerment of 5 million women entrepreneurs! By offering help like business skills courses and financial services, Coca-Cola is helping women along their journey to build their successful businesses. With the help of companies like TechnoServe, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, International Finance Corporation, and Inter-American Development Bank, Coca-Cola is determined to make a difference in the equality and empowerment of women entrepreneurs.d.jpg

As of 2015, Coca-Cola has helped more than 1.2 million female entrepreneurs. This means they are well on track for reaching their goal of 5 million by 2020 (5by20)! This program is currently ongoing in 60 countries around the world including Vietnam, France, Greece, Bhutan, Argentina, Bangladesh, Somalia, and Canada. A recent study has shown that 5by20 female entrepreneurs have seen a 44% increase in sales as well as a 23% increase in personal income since entering the program. This study also shows that these women are more likely to reinvest over 90% of their income back into their communities. This means that when these entrepreneurial women grow, so do their communities.

In June of 2015, Coca-Cola launched their 5by20 Artisan Entrepreneur Retail Program. Proceeds from all sales go to the 5by20 female artisans and their communities. You can help the 5by20 Artisan Entrepreneur Retail Program by purchasing some of their amazing hand crafted goods.
