When I discovered Waft, I knew this would be the perfect gift this Mother’s Day! Waft is a website that lets you personalize your very own perfume. Whether it be for personal use or a gift, Waft is super easy to use! To begin, you have to enter the WaftLab and answer a series of questions. If designing for yourself you can choose whether you are a man or a woman, a fragrance type (masculine, unisex, or feminine), time of day you want to wear the fragrance (day or night), the activity you will be doing while using the fragrance (sports, social, dating, or work), the mood you would like to portray (fresh, sexy, elegant, or relaxed), your personal style (classic or trendy), Waft Potency (subtle, balanced, or daring) and then choose some of your favorite scents from a scents list. If designing for someone else, you can chose to answer the survey for them or have the gift-receiver take the survey themselves. Once you or your gift-receiver fill out the survey, you will be taken to a reflection page. This page will show you each of the answers you have selected and gives you the opportunity to list some of your favorite perfume brands. Waft will use this list of favorite brands to use as inspiration when creating your custom fragrance. Once everything is completed, Waft gives you the option to customise your bottle with a custom name, your initials, and a short message (this step can be skipped). You can receive a 100ml bottle of your personalized perfume as well as a 15ml Freshen (meant to layer on top of your custom fragrance to get a lighter lighter and fresher scent) and a 15ml Dare (meant to layer on top of your custom fragrance to get a more daring scent) for $99.00. If you’re a bit nervous about ordering a custom scent without smelling it first, you can order a sample pack for only $19. I must say that I was THRILLED with my custom scent, and I have been using it every day! My custom scent is a very light floral scent, which has a crisp hint of musk! I couldn’t have been more satisfied! I can’t wait to customize a bottle for my mother! I know this will be a Mother’s Day gift that she will actually use!

It can be hard to come up with original gift ideas each year but I think that creating your own scent is a great idea. My foster mum likes perfumes like Paco Rabane and Armani, so I think something heady and sultry is the kind of scent she likes x
