I try to do family night as often as possible, but sometimes the children get bored of playing the same games over and over. My daughter also gets tired of feeling left out since the games are usually too hard for her to play. I am so glad we decided to get some new Peaceable Kingdom games!
Monkey Around
Monkey around was my daughter’s ultimate favorite game. Made for kids ages 2 and up, this game was absolutely perfect for all of us. This game contained one game board, 40 action cards, one beanbag bananas, and a parent guide. Each round, a child must grab an action card and complete the action. Some of the actions included walking backwards with a banana on your head, crawling around like a monkey, and spinning in a circle with a partner. If the child can’t complete the action, you can modify it to best fit their ability. This game is meant to get kids up and moving, and it did just that! We just couldn’t get enough of this game!

Where’s Bear?
Where’s bear is another game aimed at toddlers. This game contains 6 boxes, 1 wooden bear figurine, a parent guide and instructions for five versions of game play. Each box represents a room in bear’s house in which he can hide. One of the games you can play is a simple hide-and-seek game. One player hides bear under a box, and the other players have to guess where bear is. This was my daughter’s favorite version of the game, as it was easy of her to play each sides. She was able to hide bear, as well as find him when others hid him.

The Memory Palace
The Palace was my nephew’s favorite game of the night. This game comes with 16 palace tiles, 27 animal tokens, 3 Memory Monster tokens and instructions. I told wacky little stories while placing my animal cards face down onto the board. I also placed three memory monster cards down to confuse the kids. The kids then had to remember where each animal was on the tiles without turning over any monster cards. It was so fun watching the kids tell their funny stories and then the other kids trying to remember those stories in order to find the correct animals. I love how this game got everyone involved, and also inforced memory skills.

We also got a pack of playing cards and My Meaningful Life which will be part of next week’s family game night. The cards will be utilized for “Go Fish” while the My Meaningful Life will simply be a little journal for the kids to express themselves while completing fun writing activities. I am so glad we got these, and I can’t wait to expand our collection for future game nights.

These all sound like fun games. I don’t have a lot of game nights with my daughter, only because she whines. But maybe now that she’s older it can be a pleasant experience.
