I can not express how excited I was to test out a new haircare brand from my daughter: Rock The Locks! From the makers of Piggy Paint, Rock The Locks is a kid-friendly hair product line that is trusted by parents around the world! All Rock The Locks products are infused with essential oils and are free from all artificial fragrances, alcohol, sulfates, parabens, and phthalates! The fun colors and silly names are sure to be a hit with children, while the products themselves are sure to be a hit with parents!
Not So Knotty– Not So Knotty is a conditioning detangler that is tough on tangles, but soft on hair! I personally used this detangler on both wet AND dry hair, with equally amazing results. All I had to do was spray my daughter’s hair from top to bottom, and comb through. I was surprised at how easily Not So Knotty was to distribute. It comes out of the bottle in a large spray, so I only needed to use two or three pumps per use! This product is infused with essential oils and superfruit complex which adds body, moisture, and shine! It is free of parabens and phthalates as well as alcohol. My daughter loved the fruity smell, and I loved how easy it was to comb through my daughter’s matted ends!
Curls Wanna Have Fun– Curls Wanna Have Fun is a curl enhancer that defines curls without weighing them down. Although this can be used on both wet and dry hair, I personally tested it out on my daughter’s towel dried hair. I sprayed it directly into her hair, then combed through. After about an hour, I checked her hair again and LOVED the results. My daughter’s hair isn’t naturally curly, but thanks to Curls Wanna Have Fun, she had some adorable beach-like waves. I am sure this would work much better on girls with ringlets, however we loved our results. I also loved that it didn’t leave that “crunchy” feeling like my adult curl enhancer does! The orange creamsicle scent was heavenly, and my daughter asked if it came in a perfume bottle!
Get Stylin’ & Profilin’– Get Stylin’ & Profilin’ is a flex style gel that gives hair more control and hold. I originally got this for my nephew who likes to spike his hair up, however it came in very handy for dance class. I used it to slick back my daughter’s hair into her ballerina bun, and it held throughout the entire hour long dance class! All I had to do was apply a small amount of the gel to the palm of my hand, rub my hands together, then work the gel into my daughter’s hair to get the desired style. I let it air dry and we were ready to go. My daughter loved the green apple scent, and surprisingly I was able to smell it up until I went to rinse it out!
Don’t Messy With Me– Don’t Messy With Me is a texture paste for extreme hold. I got this product for my nephew as well, and it was a huge hit! Like the Get Stylin’ & Profilin”, all I had to do was apply a small amount of the gel to the palm of my hand, rub my hands together, then work the gel into his hair. I dried fairly quickly, so I was able to style his fohawk exactly how he wanted it without fear of it going flat. There was no crunchy feeling, and it didn’t leave any oily residue! To my surprise, this paste lasted much longer than the salon brand product I previously purchased him.
So Fresh & So Clean– So Fresh & So Clean is a two in one shampoo/conditioner that gently cleans and conditions the hair. This has to be one of my favorite Rock The Locks products! My daughter has fairly thick hair, so conditioner is a must! I was a bit skeptical about using a two in one, simply because her hair always looks dull and lifeless after use. Much to my surprise, So Fresh & So Clean did a great job of leaving my daughter’s hair super shiny and healthy looking. All I needed was a dime sized amount, and it completely covered my daughter’s head. I was surprised at the amount of suds it created since it is an all natural product! Like all of the Rock The Locks products, the smell was amazing and lasted all day!
Lock It & Rock It– Lock it & Rock it is a hairspray that provides great hold and shine. I was super excited to find out that this product is alcohol free and water-based, which means it is perfect for little heads! I haven’t used this on my daughter’s wet hair, however I have used it to keep her dry hair in place. When I put her hair in pigtails or a pony tail, she always has these annoying little “flyaways” that get in her face. All I have to do is spray a bit of this on it, style, and she is ready to go! It stays for quite some time, however I do use it for little touchups throughout the day!
