My daughter just turned three, so I hoped the terrible twos were behind us. That is when I was told of the dreaded “Threenager” years. A three year old who has the attitude of a teenager! Temper tantrums in the store, selective hearing, and so much more. You name it, we’ve experienced it. That is why I was more than willing to test out the new Kudo Banz! Kudo Banz are small bracelet-like bands that act as a sticker chart on-the-go! No matter where you are, you can immediately reinforce good behavior by sticking a Kudo charm onto your child’s Kudo band! I immediately requested a starter pack because I was willing to try anything to correct this bad behavior. In the starter pack I received a hardcover storybook, two bands, six Kudo charms, a carrying pouch, a FREE app download. This is everything I need for 1-2 children.
The Kudo Banz system was extremely easy for the kids and I to understand. Do a good deed or do something nice, and receive a Kudo charm. Receive Kudo charms and earn prizes and rewards. Simple. To start, I had to download the Kudo app and set everything up. In the parent section I could add children and select prizes for the prize wheel. I decided to add “Bake Cookies”, “Paint Your Nails”, “Go For A Bike Ride”, “Family Movie Night” and “Get Ice Cream” as prizes since those are some of my daughter’s favorite things to do! Once I explained the app to my daughter, she was more than happy to start earning her charms. Once Kinsley has earned three charms, all I have to do is scan her charm and she can spin the rewards wheel! Since the app and bracelet can go with us anywhere, the prize wheel allows for immediate reinforcement! To make sure Kinsley doesn’t lose interest in her Kudo Band, she will move up a level in the kids move up a level in the Kudo World every time she spins the reward wheel! Kudo Bandz are such an easy way to reinforce good behavior while at home or on-the-go! Unlike similar approaches such as sticker charts, Kudo Banz can go anywhere we go! I can’t wait to see the long-term effects of this adorable little product!

I just read about these the other day. Positive reinforcement does seem to work better with a visual like the banz.
