My Little Pediatrician Kit from Little Medical School

A few months ago my daughter and I reviewed the My Little Veterinarian Kit from Little Medical School and it was a huge hit. Little Medical School is a program dedicated to teaching children about health care professions such as doctors and nurses. Last time my daughter was able to learn the ins and outs of Veterinary medicine, but this time we decided to learn a little about Pediatric medicine! Kinsley’s My Little Pediatrician Kit included a white doctor’s coat, a plush baby doll, baby ID bracelet, a punch out stethoscope and otoscope, a student doctor name tag, a pediatric assessment form, a tape measure, markers, a baby box for safe sleeping, a birth certificate and a diploma along with self-guided workbook. Everything she needed to graduate top of her (pretend) class! 20171117_205113.jpg

When Kinsley seen the box she knew exactly what to do! She threw on her lab coat and went to work! My eight year old nephew, Nathaniel, was dying to join in on the lessons. I decided to let him use the lab coat from our previous box, and learn along with us! We decided to name our baby Sophia, and Kinsley was her official adopted parent. Once we got the adoption out of the way, we send Sophia straight to Dr.Nathaniel for her newborn checkup. In the My Little Pediatrician Workbook, Kinsley and Nathaniel learned what doctors do to examine children. They checked Sophia’s eyes, her breathing, and even measured her head! They went step by step checking off the pediatric assessment form until Sophia was cleared to go home! After they practiced on Sophia, they started to practice on each other! What I loved the most about this box, is the fact that Nathaniel got to play along. These boxes are NOT just for little girls to pretend play. While Kinsley really enjoyed being a baby doctor, Nathaniel learned that he can be whatever he wants to be when he grows up! We may have sparked a bit of interest in him because now he says he wants to help babies when he gets big! Both kids really enjoyed this box.

  1. I’m totally getting this for my young son. I was so impressed to see how much it impacted, Nathaniel. Not only did it spark an interest in him to help babies when he grows up, but also he learned that he can be whatever he wants to be when he grows up!

  2. That’s such a good idea – a kit for kids to play with but at the same time learn about being a Pediatrician. Future career maybe? 😉
