April Game Night

Kinsley and I finally got to have another game night this month, and we have some pretty cool new games to feature! We’ve been eyeing a few of these for quite some time, but we’ve never gotten a chance to get our hands on them! Hydro Strike is one that my nephew has been absolutely begging for! It is basically a head-to-head pinball game that splashes the looser every time their opponent makes a goal! You can only imagine how competitive it could get! My daughter on the other hand has been begging for Googly Eyes! This game comes with vision goggles that makes everything look pretty silly! Players have to draw specific items while using the silly glasses while their teammate guesses what it is. This one had us laughing so hard that our stomach hurt! We also tried out WordSearch and the upgraded Built or Boom game which were also great additions. The Word Search game is an awesome learning game in my opinion because it forces kids to use their spelling skills in order to find correct words! This game night was definitely a hit with the kids!

Googly Eyes– Googly Eyes is the hilarious family game that challenges your vision and leaves you googling for more! Put on the zany, vision-altering google eye glasses and start to draw while your team tries to guess what you’re drawing. Is that an igloo or a turtle? A birthday cake or a fortress? Players take turns drawing and guessing, so everyone gets a chance to wear the glasses. The glasses come with three sets of lenses that range from mild changes to mind-blowing fun, so no one can see (or draw) straight–your vision will bounce off of the lenses. Googly Eyes is a fun twist on classic drawing games that lets players of different ages and skill levels compete on equal terms, since the goggles make it fun and challenging for everyone. Unlike any other drawing game you don’t need to be an artist, and the rules are simple. Just roll the die and move–the space you land on tells you which color lenses to use (easy, medium, or hard). Then pick a card, set the timer, and start drawing. If your team guesses correctly you get to roll and move again; if not, then you stay where you are on the board. The first team to reach Finish wins. For 4-16 players, ages 7 and up. Game Contains one game board, one tablet, one timer, 162 challenge cards, one die, and one pair of glasses with 3 changeable lenses. Hydro Strike– Get ready to make a splash with Hydro Strike! In this head-to-head pinball game, you’ll need fast flipping fingers to shoot the ball into your opponent’s goal.  Score and your opponent will get sprayed in the face with water!  Since a sprayer is aimed at both players, strike quick when you play, or you’ll get the spray!  The first player to score 5 times wins.  Will you win or get wet?  For 2 players, ages 7 and up. Game contains one game unit, 2 balls, and complete instructions. See a Hydro Strike video on their YouTube channel.

Build Or Boom– The big boss is looking for the best builders in town! Step in line and see who can be the first to bring the blueprint cards to life. Build your structure quickly yet carefully on your platform. Then SMASH your boomer to send your opponent’s structure tumbling. There’s only room for one builder in this town… do you have what it takes? Or will you get boomed on your way to the top? For 2 players, ages 4 and up. Game contains 4 boards, 4 blocks, 4 triangles, 4 arches, 4 cones, 4 I-beams, 2 platforms, 2 boomers, 2 hair hoses, 1 card holder, 4 barrels, 2 builders, 30 blueprint cards, and instructions. Wordsearch– The race is on with this exciting version of the classic hidden word puzzle – it turns a solitary activity into a fun group word game as players go on a word search. Rotate the specially-designed circular board to reveal the word that the players will race to find on this turn. Everyone plays at once, and the first player to locate the word marks it with transparent colored tiles. With twists and turns that allow players to remove tiles played by competitors, Word Searches find that it’s a great game for kids and families to play together (and to boggle their minds!). The player with the most tiles on the board at the end wins. For 2-4 players, ages 7 and up. Game contains one game board, 8 double-sided game cards with 464 words, 280 marking tiles, and complete instructions. See a Wordsearch video on their YouTube channel
