Gel nail stickers are the hottest new trend on the market. The stickers are supposed to be easy to apply by yourself, and cost a fraction of the price as salon gel nails. I got my hands on a Geli Nails starter kit to test out just how easy and durable these stickers truly are. A starter kit from Geli Nails includes 3+ Geli colors of your choice, a cuticle stick, a nail file, cuticle oil, alcohol prep pads, a UV light, and Gel Top Coat. With tons of colors and patterns to chose from, you can customize your starter kit to match your style!
For my starter kit I chose the colors “Eggplant Purple” and “Seafoam Green”. I personally prefer to use solids since they easily match with the rest of my accessories. Application was very easy, and they’re is even a step by step guide with video on their website which you can check out below.
Step By Step Application:
Step 1: Clean your nails with the alcohol prep pad, and push back your cuticles with the cuticle stick.
Step 2: Find the right sized GELIs for your nails. Our GELIs do stretch, so if there is a nail that’s not quite the right size, size down, and gently stretch the GELI to better fit your nail.
Step 3: Apply your GELIs. For the best results, gently place the GELI on your nail. Once it’s centered, press it down onto your nail.
Step 4: Get rid of the excess. It’s easiest to cut off the majority of the excess with scissors or nail clippers, and then file off the rest. Pro tip, you can keep the excess and use it on another nail!
Step 5: You’re all done! For the best results, apply a top coat for extra shine and wear time. Top coat can extend the wear time of your GELIs by 5+ days. If you have our starter kit, apply the gel top coat and cure twice in the UV light. Add cuticle oil once the top coat is cured to have healthy and beautiful nails
Not only is it completely mess free, but the cost of the strips are more than half off the price of salon nails. I will admit that it took me a few tries to get the hang of application and I wasted a few of the stripe. However once you get over the learning curve it’s smooth sailing! I can’t wait to see what colors they come out with next!
