I am currently teaching my daughter daughter, Kinsley, pattern-matching. This Sophie’s Seashell Scramble™ Game from Educational Insights was the perfect game for us! Sophie’s Seashell Scramble™is a pattern-matching game where players must spin the spinner and use the Sophie squeezer to pick up a shell with a matching pattern. The first player to collect one shell of each pattern wins! Playing the game is very simple. If your spin lands on a pattern, simply pick up that pattern. If your spinner lands on a “steal a shell” or a “lose a turn”, simply complete the action. Since there was no reading required, she was able to play against me without any additional help! My daughter had so much fun trying to beat me, that she didn’t even realize it was a learning game. I really love that Sophie’s Seashell Scramble™ enforces strategic thinking skills, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination all while helping me teach her basic pattern-matching. This is such a cute game and although it has small pieces, I believe it is age appropriate for kids 2+. I am so glad we had the chance to try this because it quickly became Kinsley’s favorite game night request!
