There is nothing better than a good competitive card game, especially one that can get everyone involved. That is why Top Trumps is one of my favorite go-to card games! Top Trumps come in hundreds of themes, so everyone in the family is able to play! The rules of Top Trumps are very simple.To start, a player must deal all of the cards face down. Each player holds their cards so that they can see the top card only. The player to the dealer’s left starts by reading out a category from their top card (example: Temper 7). The other players then read out the same category from their cards. The player with the highest value wins and collects all of the top cards and places them at the bottom of their card stack. Whoever won that round is the next to choose a category from their next card. The person with all of the cards at the end of the game, is the winner! Simple right? Yes, but extremely competitive!

Being the Harry Potter addicts that we are, we ordered three Harry Potter themed Top Trumps packs. These packs included Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Our first game we decided to play Goblet Of Fire. This pack featured characters like Harry Potter, Cedric Diggory, Neville Longbottom, and Barty Crouch. Our very first round was a “Magic” category between Neville Longbottom, George Weasley, Hermione Granger, Professor Dumbledore, and Harry Potter! It was so much fun watching how competitive this game became. Within minutes some players were down to two cards, while others had half the stack! I really loved the idea of everyone having an equal chance to win since the deck is always random! 
We had so much fun with these Harry Potter themed cards, however I can’t wait to get a few more categories that the younger kids will enjoy! My daughter has already put her request in for Paw Patrol, while my nephew is set on Marvel! Since these games each come in their own little protective case, I can take them with us wherever we go! I mean, they couldn’t be any more perfect!
